This bomber put out fires like it was nothing it could be useful with the fires we have nowadays but they prefer modern techniques; have a good retirement in Victoria. I remember being young and getting a tour and being on a flight on this bomber.

Those small coloured single engine planes resembled tiny cockroaches scurrying away when the terminator arrives 😂

I miss seeing DC-9's, MD's, 737 classics, 767-200, 777-200, MD-11's. These days you don't get much variety. A320's and 737's are long haul capable now. I understand it's better for the environment but these old videos like this bring back memories of plane spotting in the late 90's early 2000's.

When they takeoff at certain angles it looks like they rotate at 2mph and makes no sense how its lifting off the ground, planes so huge it fools your eyes.

We would stage behind each engine for a fire training scenario and I remember the wind from the engines at idle speed just swaying us back and fourth in our P-19 crash truck. Massive aircraft.

As a Fireman with the Langford Volunteer fire Dept. we were fighting a mountain top forest fire in Glen Lake . Having spent a couple of days fighting the fire, word came down that the BC Forrest service had authorized the water tankers to assist us. We were ordered to leave the site and shortly the “ Bird Dog was scouting the fire. It then left and came back with its sirens blazing, and then this red monster of the Mars swooped in over the top of the mountain and dropped this WALL of water directly over the hot spot. There was nothing more to do but roll up the hoses and head back to the hall and clean up.

That landing gear combination is the wierdest

The TF39 turbofan engines gave the C-5A its sound.

That's what a Galaxy should sound like! I hate the newer engines. The older engines are still one of my favorite sounds ever!

As a 16 year old I was able to go under the Mars Water bomber in 1977 while they were based on Sprout Lake in Port Alberni in British Cpolumbia Canada. It was a great memory.

I worked on them when the Air Force first took hold of them. Summer of 1969. Short fast takeoffs are what they were designed to do, and oh ya those engines really, really sucked. That's what jet engine do. We called them suck, blow go machines.

I bought a Tesla car, I feel so good about myself. I saved the planet.
